About Acupuncture
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional therapy in which really fine needles are inserted into specific points in the body with the aim of restoring balance. We now know that acupuncture works by triggering the body's healing response, calming the nervous system, regulating hormones and releasing endorphins.

Acupuncture can treat a wide range of symptoms and conditions whilst also addressing the underlying cause. Getting to the root cause of your symptoms can often provide a more lasting relief than treating the symptoms alone.

At Thrive Acupuncture Clinic we offer traditional acupuncture combined with a modern understanding of your condition and overall health and well-being to deliver effective results. I've trained in a range of techniques and styles to offer you the best treatment for your specific needs.

We treat everyone as an individual, no one patient or health condition is the same and we fully tailor your treatment just for you and your wonderful unique self! In order to do this, we undertake a thorough consultation including lots of questions which don't always seem relevant (but always are!) and traditional pulse taking and tongue diagnosis to compile a diagnosis unique to you.

There's an increasing body of research evidence to support the use of acupuncture for a range of conditions. It's also increasingly integrated within the NHS and NICE guidance recommending acupuncture as an effective treatment for a variety of conditions. If you'd like to know more about the evidence base for your particular health concern then please do get in touch, I'm always happy to talk about this topic!
