Gua Sha & Acupressure Facial Treatment Details
Find out more about the individual elements of our Gua Sha & Acupressure Facial treatment below
Gua Sha & Acupressure
The treatment begins with cleansing the skin, after which we will apply a nourishing facial oil to prime the skin for the use of the Gua Sha massage tools, facial cups and acupressure massage.
We use techniques learnt from one of the leading names in the industry to create lifting and sculpting effects on the face. Gua Sha helps to boost the body's immune system, expel toxins and reduce puffiness, blotches and swelling. It also helps to minimise pores and works to smooth the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
The acupressure massage involves the stimulation (through massage and light pressure) of specific traditional Chinese acupuncture points on the face to encourage the smooth flow of energy in the body to support inner health and further enhance the benefits of the treatment.
After the massage you will then relax with the LED light therapy and we'll finish with a nourishing moisturiser and your personalised acupressure ear seed prescription.
Dermalux LED Light Therapy
We offer industry leading Dermalux LED phototherapy treatments to support the effects of our cosmetic acupuncture and acupressure facials. The Flex MD device we use in clinic offers the 3 most clinically proven wavelengths so we're able to select the optimal combination for your skin for a truly bespoke treatment.

Blue Light is the most proven wavelength to destroy the bacteria which causes acne and improve skin clarity without irritation. It also has a calming effect to reduce redness and inflammation.
Red Light supercharges cell energy to accelerate repair and renewal, boost collagen synthesis, increase hydration and enhance circulation to reverse the visible signs of ageing.
Near Infrared Light (NIR) targets deeper cells to trigger the wound healing process, calm redness and irritation, reduce pigmentation and promote healthy skin.

Phototherapy, like photosynthesis, converts light energy into oxygen to fuel cell renewal, repair and rejuvenation and so gives outstanding results for skin texture, tone, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, rosacea, psoriasis and wound healing.
Acupressure Ear Seeds
Ear seeds have become very popular in recent years and can be seen on the ears of many a celebrity (if you look closely enough). They've actually been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate acupuncture points on the ears. They work by applying a continuous light pressure to the relevant acupuncture points. They can also bring additional benefit by stimulating the seeds throughout the day as needed to instantly calm the mind.
The ear seeds will enable the physical and emotional benefits of the treatment to continue even after you leave the treatment room.

If you'd prefer, you can choose to have auricular acupuncture instead of ear seeds. This form of acupuncture works directly through the vagus nerve to activate your parasympathetic nervous system which allows a deep sense of relaxation. It's also great for (peri)menopausal symptoms including anxiety and hot flushes.
